The Retail Team Leader is responsible for managing and supervising the operations of assigned pharmacies in compliance with UAE Health Authority (DHA / DOH / MOH) regulations. The role ensures excellence in customer service, prescription accuracy, sales growth, staff performance, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.

The position serves as the operational link between pharmacy teams and the Area Manager to drive business performance while maintaining professional and ethical pharmacy practice.



Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with UAE Health Authority regulations, company SOPs, and ethical pharmacy standards.
  • Supervise accurate dispensing of prescriptions and ensure proper documentation, controlled drug registers, and record maintenance.
  • Conduct regular audits, inventory checks, expiry management, and loss-prevention activities.
  • Ensure compliance with temperature control, hygiene standards, waste disposal, and security of controlled substances.
  • Coordinate with Health Authorities and attend inspections or meetings as required.
  • Drive sales growth, prescription volume, gross profit, and achievement of budgeted targets.
  • Analyze sales trends, stock movement, margins, forecasts, and competitor activities.
  • Implement promotions, trade marketing activities, merchandising standards, and strategic item sales.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels, zero stock-outs, no expired items, and accurate inventory records.
  • Establish and enforce high standards of customer service in line with UAE pharmacy practice guidelines.
  • Provide guidance to customers on medication usage, interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage when required.
  • Ensure a professional, ethical, and culturally appropriate customer experience at all times.
  • Review, analyze, and submit daily activity and sales reports, highlighting risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Finance for daily cash reconciliation, deposits, and discrepancy reporting.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth pharmacy operations and risk mitigation.


Qualifications & Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Mandatory)
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (Mandatory)
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in retail pharmacy operations, with supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of UAE pharmacy laws, controlled medicines regulations, and audit requirements
  • Proven leadership, sales management, and customer service skills
