Job Purpose
Manage all electrical maintenance activities in the plant and provide expert engineering technical support to ensure equipment availability and reliability, and that the distribution network of the plant is operational and maintained in line with world class practices and standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain codes of practice, Electrical Maintenance policies, procedures and guidelines in compliance with corporate and ADNOC policies and standards to ensure consistent implementation.
- Monitor and drive adherence to the Maintenance Strategy, manuals and procedures by holding periodic reviews to assess compliance and drive implementation as needed.
- Manage preventive, breakdown, corrective and general maintenance in an efficient and cost effective manner; arrange for long term and short term maintenance plans and coordinate major overhauls and shutdowns of assigned equipment to ensure availability and reliability.
- Monitor and drive compliance for work request and work order quality, including risk based work selection, execution of jobs under the proper PM category, and data management/inputs.
- Ensure timely replacements of capital equipment and arrange long term and short term asset replacement plans for all facility electrical equipment, focusing on HSECES to maintain efficient operating conditions and integrity.
- Align with stakeholders such as Reliability to ensure that HSE critical equipment and systems (HSECES) are maintained per performance standards and company requirements.
- Monitor and analyze failure reports, identify bad actors (RCA) and rectify problems to initiate corrective actions and develop solutions to improve performance; identify equipment obsolescence threats and develop recovery strategies for timely action.
- Advise and resolve any critical breakdown of electrical equipment in plant operations areas to ensure safe operations.
- Ensure electrical workshop activities for test equipment calibration, equipment repair and testing and inspection of portable electrical equipment in compliance with all regulatory and corporate policies.
- Propose, develop and implement Plant Change Requests (PCR) by conducting site engineering studies to determine feasibility of introducing modifications to increase plant reliability and efficiency.
- Provide specialist/expert advice and liaison throughout project implementation to ensure safe and swift integration of electrical tie ins.
- Ensure the study of related technical and safety alerts to prevent re-occurrence at the facility and advise on technical and safety alerts relevant to the facility; issue and update facility Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) to ensure safe handling of all fixed and portable electrical equipment.
- Represent the plant in the power grid of oil companies and ADWEA for power coordination, studies and high voltage switching activities.
- Administer, control and monitor various contracts for services/manpower; follow up on the performance of contractors and recommend renewal or recruitment of new contractors to maintain systems at optimum levels.
- Ensure preparation of purchase requisitions and store issue vouchers, and provide approval as per delegated authority.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Technical knowledge of refining production operations and processes.
- Experience in installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of power generators, HV/LV switchgears, transformers, motors, UPS and related electrical process plant equipment, material handling equipment and associated control panels.
