JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Position:
Apply both electrical and mechanical related knowledge to test, diagnose, maintain, repair and modify developmental or operational machinery and control equipment and circuitry in facility. Work requires an in-depth knowledge of various trades. Performs a wide variety of electrical and electronic maintenance and mechanical service work on sophisticated electronic equipment, machines and/or controls. Diagnoses and remedies troubles, repairs and replaces equipment. Installs, maintains, and/or repairs equipment.

Education:
-
Degree in an electromechanical technical field is a plus, but not required. Trade School graduation is desirable.

Electrical and/or Electronics coursework in a university or Certificate of Electrician Apprenticeship minimum is required.
-
Specific Technology or Systems training courses will be considered.
-
Safety and Medical Certifications are preferred: OSHA 10 or higher certification; (commitment to obtain after hire date is acceptable).
Position Requirements and Qualifications
-
5+ years of journeyman experience in the electrical and mechanical maintenance fields.
-
Mandatory experience in electrical installation and maintenance work on plant AC electrical systems and equipment.
-
Mandatory experience in mechanical installation and maintenance work on plant systems and equipment.
-
Requires experience in pneumatics hardware and control systems and the basics of screw air compressors care.
-
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, reasoning, and analytical skills.
-
The ability to work in a team environment, and by yourself which includes being self-motivated, accepting responsibilities, completing assigned action items, and participating in a proactive manner in all team events.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to coordinate multiple projects with strong prioritization skills.

Ability to quickly adapt in a constantly evolving, growing environment.

Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
Technical Skills Required:
-
Competency in operation and use of Personal Computers and common office software programs is required.
-
Requires a broad knowledge of controls, switches, electronic sensors, and mechanisms.
-
Has experience in Building Wiring and small Power Distribution systems/equipment including new install & repairs.
-
Proper operation of Digital Multimeters, DC Power Supplies, Electronics Soldering. Soldering certificate is desirable.
-
Hands-on, practical understanding and use of NFPA and NEC codes and competent ability to use code books.
-
Machine Shop practices minimum Basic Skill Level and safe use of all tools. Proficiency in metal fabrication.
-
Sweating/Soldering skills for Copper Tubing are required.
-
Minimum of basic-level skills in TIG welding including Aluminum.
-
Experienced with AC/DC drive motor wiring, operation, and troubleshooting and Stepper and/or Servo Motors.
-
Experience using, troubleshooting, replacing Stepper Motors and Drive Boards.
-
Maintain working knowledge of automated or assembly tools or software by reading or attending conferences, workshops, or other training.
-
Understanding and applying the entry level or basic level of TCIP Networking is required.
-
Competent level of commercial/industrial safety gear like fall arrestors, harnesses, etc.
-
Proficient in safe use of various ladders. Scissors and boom lifts training can be provided if needed.
Technical Responsibilities:
-
Inspects and checks equipment for proper operating condition, makes necessary adjustments, logs test readings, and maintains, repairs, or replaces all essential equipment parts.
-
Capable of working with outside contractors for trouble shooting procedures.
-
At least entry level of industrial PLC programming and operational support. Mitsubishi PLC is most desirable.
-
Self-motivated person that works with little direction. Support of maintaining factory production line is mandatory.
-
Understanding urgency to trouble shoot machines and bring production back online.
-
Read blueprints, basic pneumatic schematics, mechanical and electrical diagrams.
-
Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, machine tools, fixtures, templates.
-
Proficient with metalworking machinery to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, and fixtures.
-
Fabricate and repair using Electric Welding skills are required – Steel Stick; Aluminum and Stainless TIG. State Certification is not required but is appreciated.

Repair, rework, and calibrate pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
-
Prepare parts sketches and write work orders and support Preventative Maintenance and Parts Inventory Programs.
-
Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly, and testing.
-
Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments.
-
Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
-
Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
-
Research, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
-
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations.
-
Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
-
Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
-
Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
-
Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.

Ability to work extended hours, overtime and/or weekends as required.
The employee generally works in warehouse and indoor factory or office environments but occasionally works out of doors, in all types of weather and on uneven terrain.
