Job Summary 💼

We are looking for a Backend Team Lead to lead the design and delivery of scalable backend systems. You will drive technical direction, define architecture and mentor a high-performing backend team while collaborating with cross-functional teams to build reliable and high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, ensuring high performance and professional development.
• Design and implement scalable backend solutions using Node.js and related technologies.
• Own backend technical decisions and ensure alignment with product, mobile and frontend teams on system design and APIs.
• Mentor engineers to improve team delivery and maintainable code quality.
• Drive the successful delivery of backend features and platform improvements within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Establish and maintain backend engineering standards (code quality, guidelines, testing, documentation, observability).
• Improve system stability and performance through proactive monitoring, optimization, and incident reviews with clear action items.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of backend development experience including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience building and scaling backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript, with modern frameworks such as NestJS or Express.js.
• Proven experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures, with strong backend architecture and system design skills.
• Solid experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB), including performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with message queues and caching solutions (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Redis), and deploying systems on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using CI/CD pipelines and Docker.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with proven ability to mentor engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams.
