Tech Lead JAVA

2. Job Summary/Purpose

As a Tech Lead – Java, you will play a key role in leading a cross-functional development team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure enterprise applications. You will be responsible for hands-on coding, guiding the team technically, ensuring adherence to best practices, and driving successful project delivery. Working closely with Software Architects, Product Managers, and QA teams, you will translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, fostering collaboration and innovation across the development lifecycle.

3. Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Technical Leadership & Delivery:

oLead the end-to-end development lifecycle of assigned modules and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

oTranslate business and functional requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

oProvide hands-on technical direction and guidance to the development team throughout design and implementation.

oCollaborate closely with the Software Architect to align solutions with the defined architecture framework and standards.

oMentor and coach team members to enhance technical skills, code quality, and adherence to best practices.

oPerform regular code reviews to ensure standards, maintainability, and performance are met.

Development & Implementation:

oDevelop and maintain enterprise-level Java applications using Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA.

oDesign and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration services for seamless interoperability.

oLead front-end development using Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 to deliver responsive and dynamic interfaces.

oEnsure application development follows established coding standards, design patterns, and security guidelines.

oDrive agile development practices through active participation in sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

Quality Assurance & Performance:

oEnsure applications meet functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, and security.

oIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks across application layers.

oCollaborate with QA teams to validate deliverables and maintain overall application stability and quality.

oPromote automated testing and continuous integration practices to improve reliability and delivery speed.

Collaboration & Communication:

oAct as the primary technical point of contact between development, architecture, and product teams.

oWork closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless delivery pipelines.

oCommunicate technical progress, risks, and challenges effectively to stakeholders and management.

oFacilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams to foster a culture of transparency and accountability.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

oStay up to date with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to enhance project outcomes.

oRecommend and implement process improvements to optimize development workflows and productivity.

o Encourage innovation and experimentation within the team while maintaining focus on project goals.

DevOps & Deployment:

oCollaborate with DevOps engineers to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient code integration and deployment.

oParticipate in deployment planning, configuration, and post-deployment validation.

oEnsure applications are deployed securely and optimized for scalability and performance.

4. Competencies -Core/Technical:

1.Java & Backend Development

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and design patterns.

• Exposure to building scalable applications and microservices architecture. 2. Front-End Development

• Working knowledge of Angular (v13+ preferred), JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and Node.js.

• Ability to contribute to responsive and dynamic front-end applications. 3. Database Management & Optimization

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

• Basic understanding of indexing, query optimization, and data modeling. 4. DevOps & Cloud Platforms

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).

• Understanding cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. 5. Workflow Orchestration & IAM

• Basic knowledge of Camunda BPM integration with Spring Boot for business workflows.

• Exposure to IAM tools like Keycloak with authentication and authorization concepts (SSO, RBAC, OAuth2/OpenID Connect). 6. Tools & Monitoring

• Familiarity with database migration tools (Liquibase, Flyway).

• Basic exposure to monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack. 7. Troubleshooting & Debugging

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for debugging and issue resolution.

Qualifications, Experience & Professional Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience leading development teams or acting as a technical lead.

• Strong experience in Java-based enterprise application development using Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA.

• Experience with ERP, CRM, HRMS, or other enterprise-grade business applications.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Java Full Stack Certification or equivalent.

• Agile / Scrum Master Certification (added advantage).
