Process & Performance Engineer - Combined Cycle Power Plant

Play a key role in optimizing performance and efficiency across one of Saudi Arabia's most advanced power generation facilities. As a Process & Performance Engineer, you'll monitor plant performance, conduct detailed testing, and identify opportunities to enhance output, reliability, and heat rate efficiency across all operating systems.

What you'll do
  • Monitor and control plant heat rate, unit heat rate (UHR), and auxiliary power consumption.
  • Conduct periodic performance testing on equipment including turbines, condensers, pumps, and heaters.
  • Analyze performance gaps versus design specifications and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead efficiency improvement initiatives, including flue gas path mapping, combustion optimization, and air heater in leakage testing.
  • Oversee performance monitoring of major systems such as fans, milling systems, and condensers.
  • Generate daily, monthly, and annual performance reports with insights for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with all Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives in plant performance and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure optimized plant performance.
  • Uphold all HSE procedures to ensure safe and environmentally compliant operations.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Process, or Power Engineering.
  • 7-10 years' experience in power plant operations or performance monitoring, ideally in CCGT or coal-based plants.
  • Deep knowledge of plant systems, thermodynamic processes, and performance testing procedures.
  • Hands on experience in performance data analysis, diagnostics, and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of heat balance calculations, energy audits, and process simulations.
  • Skilled in using software tools for performance calculation and monitoring.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, detail oriented, and able to handle emergency plant conditions effectively.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
