The Technical Assistant in the Battery Shop plays a critical supporting role in ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of aircraft power systems. This position involves performing precise maintenance, testing, and documentation procedures on various types of aircraft batteries in strict compliance with aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform overhaul, servicing, charging, and testing of aircraft batteries, including emergency power supply/packs, in accordance with approved technical data and procedures.
• Conduct inspections to identify defects, contamination, or degradation.
• Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous and corrosive materials safely.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work performed.
• Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with regulatory requirements and shop safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Battery Shop.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent technical qualification required; a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an aviation maintenance environment, ideally within a component shop or laboratory.
• Experience handling corrosive materials is a strong advantage.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and safe operation of battery-related equipment.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and computer literacy.
• Familiarity with aviation maintenance standards and safety procedures.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
