About the Role

Our client, a globally recognized leader in industrial automation, electrification, and digitalization solutions is seeking an experienced Technical Author to support the delivery of high-quality technical documentation for Siemens Avenio trains based at Qatar Education City.

The role involves writing, editing, and delivering complete documentation packages — including Train Operating Manuals, Maintenance Manuals, and Parts Catalogues — through formal validation and acceptance processes. This is a hands-on, technically demanding role within a safety-critical rail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and manage technical documentation to a high standard of accuracy and clarity
• Deliver documentation packages into validation and acceptance processes
• Produce and maintain:
• Train Operating Manuals
• Maintenance Manuals
• Illustrated Parts Catalogues
• Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and project teams to gather and validate technical data
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality processes
• Manage document updates, revisions, and version control
• Analyse complex technical information and translate it into clear, user-focused documentation

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-HowEssential

• Proven experience delivering technical documentation in a heavy industry environment, preferably rolling stock maintenance
• Experience working with Digital Maintenance Management Systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

Preferred

• Knowledge of the railway industry
• Experience using documentation management systems in an engineering environment
• Experience performing maintenance tasks on trains or within a similar heavy industry environment
