Position Summary:
Reporting to the Operating Committee, the Technical Director is responsible for all Operations of the company including EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning) of energy facilities, drilling operations, wells and pipelines and subsurface engineering.
Immediate requirements are to fulfil the appraisal phase of development for the drilling of 3 deviated wells and EPCC of a 100mmcf/d gas processing and sulphur removal facility.
The position will work alongside the General Manager who will be separately responsible for all business, office and support functions.

Manage all aspects of Company operations including project teams, project studies, schedules, budgets, contracting and procurement, third-party Contractors.

Strong oversite of project progress, schedule and cost is essential. Able to work with several simultaneous activities, prioritising as necessary to manage multiple parties responsible for deliverables, including: company employees, direct-hired contractors and third-party companies.

Ability to report to Senior Leadership Team and other stakeholders on project progress and key risks.

Competency (Knowledge & Skills) Required:

Required to have the capability to undertake the following tasks with no supervision:

Technical management of all projects including both EPCC and Well Operations

Coordinate with internal engineering personnel to deliver allocated project scope.

Manage external engineering resources to complete allocated project scope.

Approve project cost estimates, budgets and schedules
-
Liaise and communicate with internal project stakeholders as required to ensure effective input into designs.

Coordinate with internal contracts, procurement and supply chain resources to implement service contracts and purchase materials required to deliver the project.

Ensure implementation of company procedures (HSSE, Management of Change, Contracting & Procurement, Government and Regulatory approvals).

Report on project performance at regular intervals.

Train and mentor local staff as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Qualifications Expected / Required:
-
Degree/ diploma in applicable numerate discipline - mechanical, process, chemical, petroleum engineering preferred.

Member of an internationally recognized Professional Engineering Association preferred.
-
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
Experience Expected / Required:
-
A minimum of 20 years of experience including 5 years as a COO, Operations Manager or Project Manager with extensive onshore oil & gas project experience with an E&P Operator or Engineering Company.

Experience with either the full cycle EPC(M) of a sour gas facility or strong experience in well construction and highly deviated, high pressure gas wells.

Experience in delivery complex projects with budgets exceeding $100 million and involving over 100 company and contractor personnel

Previous project experience in the Middle East is essential. Experience in challenging regional environments would be considered a bonus and in working in difficult logistical regions

Previous experience with host government, JV and local authorities is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:
