Technical Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking a Technical Engineer with 5 years of experience in interior fit out projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with site teams and consultants, and ensuring that all works are executed according to design, specifications, and project standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Drawings and Documentation
• Prepare, review, and update shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for fit out projects.
• Develop detailed technical documents, method statements, and material submittals in line with project specifications.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated across disciplines, and compliant with codes and standards.
• Site Coordination and Support
• Provide technical support to site engineers and supervisors during execution of fit out works.
• Attend site meetings to resolve technical issues and coordinate with other trades (MEP, civil, architectural, etc.).
• Conduct site inspections to verify work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Fit Out Project Execution
• Review IFC drawings and identify discrepancies, clashes, or missing information, proposing practical solutions.
• Coordinate the integration of finishes, joinery, ceilings, partitions, flooring, and other fit out elements.
• Support the planning and sequencing of works to ensure smooth execution and minimal rework.
• Stakeholder Coordination
• Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors regarding technical queries and approvals.
• Prepare and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) and track their status.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and workshops.
• Quality, Compliance, and Safety
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and company quality standards.
• Support QA/QC teams with inspections, checklists, and documentation.
• Promote and support site safety by aligning technical solutions with HSE requirements.
• Cost and Time Efficiency
• Provide technical input to reduce rework, optimize material usage, and improve constructability.
• Assist in reviewing material quantities, BOQs, and variations from a technical perspective.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Interior Architecture, or related field.
• Experience
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Technical Engineer in interior fit out projects (commercial, retail, hospitality, or residential).
• Strong background in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Technical Skills
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design/coordination software (e.g., Revit is a plus).
• Good understanding of fit out materials, finishes, joinery details, and installation methods.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Soft Skills
• Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Good command of English (spoken and written); Arabic is an advantage.
