Technical Field Representative

What You’ll Do

As Technical Field Representative, you will be responsible for delivering on Dyno Nobel solutions offerings. You will manage projects while maintaining and building customer relationships, increasing Dyno Nobel’s value to customers. Other duties include:

  • Live and foster Dyno Nobel Values

  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE Performance Standards

  • Manage individual project related expenses (materials & travel).

  • Responsibility to deliver cast pattern design utilizing survey instrumentation and CAD-type software deliverable to the mine

  • Manage data collection including seismographs, drones, data collectors, high speed camera along with onsite data collection

  • Will be responsible for onsite participation in optimization projects, and be able to organize, interpret, and collect blast data as directed for ongoing optimization projects

  • Organize, interpret, and collect blast data as directed for ongoing optimization projects

  • Effectively and proactively communicate as there will be daily cross-company communication between WESCO/Peabody/Dyno and cross department communication between engineering/operations

  • Conduct pre-blast surveys e.g. face profiles, borehole deviation measurements, blast geometry measurements, product sampling, safety audits, etc.

  • Conduct blast performance measurements, e.g. digital high-speed video, vibration monitoring, velocity of detonation, dynamic pressure, etc.

  • Conduct post blast assessments, etc. fragmentation measurement, time studies, volumetric measurements, blast reporting & documentation.

  • Conduct time studies on personnel and equipment throughout an operation including: drill and blast operations, truck-shovel loading, dragline, processing, etc.

  • Attend and participate in weekly blasting planning meetings, monthly BOT meetings, and other meetings as required.

  • Work in conjunction with the site JV partner and customer to execute the weekly blasting plan.

  • Respond professionally and timely to address problems and business requests.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining, Geo-technical, Mineral, and/or Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering. 1+ years engineering experience in mining industry OR 10+ Years Industry related experience with progressively increasing professional responsibility with leading edge technology to achieve results.

  • Experience in drill and blast instrumentation (drones, profilers, seismographs, etc.) preferred

  • Experience in large open pit and / or coal preferred

  • Current MSHA (or ability to receive) certification for Part 46 and 48

  • FAA part 107 sUAS certification or ability to obtain certification

  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.

  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
