Technical Safety Engineer-Oil and Gas

Location: Consultant Office, Qatar
Working Hours: 40 Hours/Week (Sunday to Thursday)
Contract Duration: 12 Months (Extendable)
Salary: QAR 12,000.00 -All-inclusive-per month

Job Summary

Our client, a leading multinational engineering company, is currently seeking an experienced Technical Safety Engineer to support a major offshore oil & gas project in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have strong technical safety expertise, offshore facility experience, and hands-on knowledge of hazardous area classification and safety engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop hazardous area schedules in accordance with EI 15
• Prepare Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) drawings, including plans and side views
• Review and interpret P&IDs, Heat & Material Balances, and MSDS-related hazard information
• Prepare firefighting and safety equipment layouts for offshore facilities
• Develop escape, evacuation, and safety signage layouts
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 497, Shell DEP v45, DEM1 V46, and QatarEnergy offshore standards
• Coordinate effectively with draftsmen to ensure accurate technical layouts and documentation
• Deliver assigned work within project schedules and deadlines
• Prepare technical reports and communicate project updates proactively

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• 7–10 years of experience in Technical Safety / HSE Engineering
• Proven experience in offshore oil & gas facilities
• Strong knowledge of-EI 15, NFPA 497, Shell DEP v45, DEM1 V46, QatarEnergy offshore standards
• Experience preparing-HAC drawings, Firefighting layouts, Escape & evacuation layouts, and Safety signage layouts
• Ability to understand and interpret engineering documents and process drawings
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills
• Proactive attitude with strong accountability and time management

• Strong coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Detail-oriented with high technical accuracy
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment
