Technical Interior Designer Manager

The Technical Interior Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the complete technical delivery of interior design projects, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, coordination, and buildability. This role provides strategic leadership to the technical team, guarantees compliance with project requirements and industry regulations, and ensures seamless execution from concept development through construction. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge, strong managerial capabilities, and proven experience in luxury and high-end interior projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Department Management:

• Lead, manage, and develop the technical interior design department, ensuring optimal team performance and efficient resource allocation.
• Establish and maintain technical standards, documentation protocols, and workflows across all projects.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and mentorship, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure departmental compliance with company guidelines, quality benchmarks, and project delivery expectations.

Technical Design Governance:

• Oversee the preparation and approval of complete technical drawing packages, including GA plans, RCPs, sections, detailed elevations, joinery/millwork details, material specifications, and BOQs.
• Ensure all technical documentation accurately reflects the design intent and adheres to functional, regulatory, and constructability requirements.
• Provide advanced technical direction and solutions for complex design issues and site constraints.
• Uphold quality, consistency, and precision in all technical outputs produced by the team.

Coordination, Compliance & Quality Assurance:

•  Lead coordination efforts between interior design, architectural, MEP, structural, and site teams to produce fully integrated and clash-free documentation.
• Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and consultants to validate materials, construction details, mock-ups, and buildability.
• Ensure full compliance with local authority regulations, international design standards, fire codes, and project-specific requirements.
• Implement and manage rigorous QA/QC processes, including scheduled drawing reviews, audits, and approvals.

Project Delivery & Technical Support

•  Oversee project documentation schedules, ensuring timely submissions, controlled revisions, and clear record management.
•  Provide technical leadership during tendering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.
• Attend technical coordination meetings, site inspections, and consultant workshops as required.
• Support project managers in mitigating risks, resolving technical disputes, and maintaining project progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture , or a related field.
• 10+ years of technical interior design experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role .
• Strong background in interior design with proven expertise in luxury, high-end, and bespoke fit-out projects.
•  Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD ; strong knowledge of Revit is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite , and other industry-standard software is advantageous.
• Deep knowledge of joinery/millwork detailing, material specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining exceptional technical accuracy and quality standards.
