Technical Interior Designer Team Leader

We are looking for an experienced Technical Interior Design Team Leader to lead and supervise the development of interior design technical documentation across high-end residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will ensure precision in drawing production, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to project standards and regulatory requirements. This role demands leadership, deep technical understanding, and proactive coordination throughout project life cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Oversight:

• Lead and manage a team of technical interior designers and CAD draftsmen, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
• Conduct performance reviews, training, and mentoring sessions to enhance team efficiency and technical competencies.
• Ensure that the team follows the firm’s standards, workflows, and best practices across all phases of technical documentation.

Technical Design Development:

• Translate design concepts and schematic drawings into full technical drawing sets, including general arrangement plans, RCPs, ceiling and flooring details, elevations, joinery, millwork, and BOQs.
• Develop, review, and redline detailed technical documentation to ensure alignment with design intent, functional requirements, and site feasibility.
• Provide creative and functional technical solutions to resolve design constraints and construction challenges.

Coordination & Quality Assurance:

• Lead coordination between the interior design team, MEP, structural, architectural, and site teams to ensure seamless integration and clash-free documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and consultants to validate materials, construction details, and buildability.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, international standards, and project specifications.
• Conduct regular drawing audits and QA/QC reviews to maintain technical accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

Project Support & Delivery:

• Attend site meetings, consultant workshops, and technical coordination sessions as required.
• Provide technical support during procurement, tendering, and construction phases.
• Track drawing submittals, manage revisions, and maintain complete project documentation records.

Client Interaction:

• Support project managers and design leads in client presentations by preparing technical visuals and detailed diagrams when required.
• Respond to technical queries from clients, consultants, and site teams throughout project execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of technical interior design experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• A background in interior design is a Must.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of local regulations, authority requirements, and international design codes.
• Excellent technical detailing, joinery knowledge, and familiarity with luxury fit-out standards.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and design quality.
