Job Title: Technical Manager - (12 month contract)
Location: Ras Al-Khaimah
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Monitor contractor performance related to schedule, quality, and compliance with plans and specifications.
• Lead negotiations regarding changes to the scope of work with clients and key subcontractors.
• Follow up on all instructions, agreements, and commitments associated with project delivery.
• Participate in meetings with regulatory agencies and public stakeholders when required.
• Oversee the development of essential project documentation, including the Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan.
• Establish program requirements for all project areas and ensure draft and final deliverables meet these criteria.
• Plan, direct, and supervise all business, technical, financial, and administrative functions of assigned projects.
• Provide guidance on field engineering procedures, construction methods, and financial considerations.
• Contribute to performance reviews and development plans for project personnel.
• Plan and ensure appropriate staffing, execution, and monitoring of all field engineering activities and support operations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
• Ensure project goals are met or exceeded according to established plans.
• Work with project teams to identify corrective actions for potential delays, cost overruns, or significant scope changes.
• Advise both client and internal management on any required adjustments or changes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of change orders.
• Monitor and report project progress, highlighting major milestones and any risks affecting cost or schedule.
• Lead weekly project review meetings to evaluate status and define action items.
• Perform additional duties relevant to the role as required.
Candidate Requirements:
• Proven leadership capability.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical or construction field.
• 15+ years of relevant construction-phase experience, including at least 5 years in project management.
• Broad technical and business background; professional registration may be required.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to interface confidently with clients and remain technically hands-on when needed.
• Ability to contribute to design-related discussions and decisions as required.
• Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, with strong skills in sequencing and project timeline management.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and methodical in approach.
• Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and propose improvements.
• Strong ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
