Job Title: Technical Manager – High-Rise Building Project

Job Summary

The Technical Manager will oversee all technical aspects of a high-rise building project in Dubai, ensuring design coordination, compliance with UAE regulations, quality standards, and timely execution. The role requires strong experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, resolving technical challenges, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and authorities.

Key Responsibilities1. Technical Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and manage all technical and engineering activities for the high-rise project.
• Coordinate between architectural, structural, MEP, façade, and specialist subcontractors.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Ensure proper integration of structural and MEP systems within the high-rise structure.
• Conduct regular technical meetings with consultants and project teams.

2. Design & Authority Coordination

• Liaise with project consultants and design teams to resolve design discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai regulations and authority requirements such as:
• Dubai Municipality
• Dubai Civil Defence
• DEWA
• RTA
• Manage authority submissions and obtain necessary approvals.

3. Construction Support

• Provide technical guidance to site teams during construction.
• Review RFIs (Requests for Information) and provide technical clarifications.
• Resolve on-site technical issues related to structural systems, high-rise cores, post-tension slabs, façade systems, and vertical transportation.
• Support procurement with technical evaluations of suppliers and materials.

4. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and local building codes.
• Monitor adherence to QA/QC standards.
• Review material submittals and ensure compliance with approved specifications.
• Assist in audits and inspections.

5. Planning & Risk Management

• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate technical input for project scheduling and sequencing.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize cost without compromising quality.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain proper technical documentation and records.
• Prepare technical reports for senior management and clients.
• Ensure as-built documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Professional certifications (PMP, Chartered Engineer, etc.) preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 12–15 years of experience in building construction.
• At least 5–7 years in high-rise building projects (30+ floors).
• Minimum 5 years of UAE/GCC experience, preferably in Dubai.
• Strong experience in structural systems, MEP coordination, façade systems, and high-rise construction methodologies.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Dubai Building Codes and authority regulations.
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• Revit / BIM coordination
• Primavera P6 (basic understanding)
• Strong understanding of post-tension systems, tower cranes planning, and vertical construction sequencing.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
