The Technical Manager oversees all technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring that designs, engineering solutions, and construction methodologies meet required standards for quality, safety, cost, and schedule. This role serves as a key link between design teams, project managers, contractors, and clients, providing expert technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership

  • Lead and mentor technical teams, providing direction, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions.
  • Establish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.

2. Project Management

  • Manage multiple technical projects from concept through completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans, resource allocation, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

3. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for internal teams, clients, vendors, and leadership.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between technical activities and organizational objectives.

4. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure projects meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security protocols.
  • Implement quality assurance processes, testing strategies, and performance monitoring.

5. Budget & Resource Management

  • Forecast resource needs and manage departmental budgets.
  • Procure equipment, tools, and software aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.

Experience

  • 10–15 years of relevant technical or engineering experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams or projects.
  • Experience with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.

Skills

  • Strong technical expertise within the relevant domain
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
