Position Summary:

Join Hitachi Rail’s growing operations in Egypt as a Technical Office Manager —a strategic leadership role designed to support and expand regional infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for senior-level engineers and managers eager to make an impact on Egypt’s development landscape.

You will oversee the setup and management of a Center of Competence , providing technical leadership to ensure the successful delivery of hardware engineering projects with adherence to cost, schedule, quality, and scope requirements.

Responsibilities:

Management Skills:

• Management Responsibilities
• Establish and grow a new Center of Competence to support regional projects.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with global project managers and core teams to drive Egypt’s growth in rail infrastructure.
• Plan and coordinate project activities using advanced scheduling tools, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Build and manage a strong, motivated technical team with clear resource allocation, performance management, and development pathways.
• Ensure delivery excellence by monitoring budgets, mitigating foreseeable risks, and adapting plans to evolving circumstances.
• Technical Leadership
• Design and oversee hardware systems for rail infrastructure, focusing on compliance with local regulations and global standards.
• Develop and optimize technical documentation, adhering to international best practices.
• Apply advanced testing methods to verify system functionality and support on-time delivery.
• Stay updated with innovations in hardware engineering and apply them to local project needs to achieve continuous improvement.
  
  

Communication Skills

• Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, ranging across technical teams, vendors, and government partners in Egypt and globally.
• Write concise, professional project reports and design documents to ensure clear communication across all levels of the organization.
• Represent Hitachi Rail with confidence and cultural sensitivity, negotiating solutions that align with project priorities and build long-term relationships.
  
  

Soft Skills

• Provide inspirational leadership to foster a highly motivated and cohesive team dynamic, where every member feels valued and supported.
• Act as a mentor for emerging engineers, empowering young Egyptian talent to grow professionally within Hitachi Rail.
• Champion professionalism and collaboration, ensuring all interactions embody mutual respect and a shared commitment to delivering high-quality projects.
  
  

Requirements:

• Experience: At least 8 years of experience managing hardware engineering projects, preferably in rail, infrastructure, or manufacturing industries.
• Education: Post-secondary Engineering Degree (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Proficiency with engineering tools such as SAP, Configuration Management Tools (e.g., DDTS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with fluency in English.
• Experience in supervisory roles is an advantage.
• Familiarity with railway signaling concepts is a plus.
