Job Description

The Technical Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating workshop activities to ensure efficient execution of the day to day activities in the workshop, including but not limited to maintenance, fabrication, repair, and overhauling work. The role focuses on optimizing manpower, materials, and equipment availability while minimizing downtime and ensuring safety and quality standards are met
Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly workshop activities, including but not limited to maintenance, fabrication, and repair jobs.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to prioritize work orders and allocate resources effectively.
  • Prepare job cards, work instructions, and maintenance schedules based on operational requirements.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts, materials, tools, and consumables prior to job execution.
  • Monitor job progress and update schedules to reflect actual execution and changes.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for specialized repair or fabrication works.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed jobs, pending work, and spare parts consumption.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly workshop performance and planning reports.
  • Support cost control by monitoring labor hours, material usage, and outsourcing costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company workshop procedures.
  • Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance planning for plant and equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–4 years of experience in workshop planning, maintenance planning, or plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop practices, maintenance procedures, and equipment repair.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, or maintenance planning tools.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Good coordination and communication abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and planning tools.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
