Summary
The primary role of this position is to facilitate the technical product development of Champion Teamwear as related to fit, quality, and construction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Creates and inputs all technical details within each tech pack.

Meets product development deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, deals well with change and maintains composure under pressure.

Communicates potential risks in product development tasks and deadlines and proactively looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.

Assists in fit sessions with the use of live models, dress forms, and images.

Interprets and applies the knowledge of design, fabrics, trims to garment construction.

Creates fit comments and communicates fit corrections to overseas vendors and manufacturers.

Adjusts patterns for fit and construction changes, using flat pattern-making skills, draping, and/or pattern software.

Supports the quality for all trims and fabrics utilized in garment creation to ensure it aligns with requested design features and garment expectation.

Reviews in detail garments, writes comments with illustrations as necessary, and communicates with factories and suppliers.

Notifies suppliers and factories of construction quality issues and provides recommendations on how to correct construction issues.

Creates and updates specification packages, ensuring the accuracy of details.

Ensures quality of newly developed product regarding fit and construction meet internal and external customer satisfaction requirements.

Communicates with the Ultrafuse scaling team when new patterns are available for scaling.

Collaborates with the Champion Teamwear embellishment department to ensure product can be successfully embellished.

Ensures samples are received and handed off to sales, marketing, and art within product to market timelines.

Maintains an understanding of the Champion Teamwear customer, apparel industry and sports trends, as well as requirements for high school sports team uniforms.

Maintains product development data in eSPS.

Complete position specific training plan and engage in continuous development utilizing a developmental plan.

Supports design, inventory planning, logistics and other departments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an apparel related field required.

At least 1-2 years of experience in product development or technical design.

Experience communicating with overseas production partners.

Patternmaking and grading experience, in-depth knowledge of fit and construction.

Knowledge of safety standards for children’s apparel.

Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional partners.

Solution-oriented problem-solving skills.

Organizational skills necessary to handle multiple tasks and reports within deadlines.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PC skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, PLM, Gerber PDS. Intermediate skill level in Excel.
