About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for US Carrier Field Certification, driving the successful market launch of cellular-connected devices. You will manage complex projects, coordinate with 3rd party labs to ensure high-quality deliverables, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and external carrier partners to negotiate test scopes. Your work will directly impact the certification and quality of Google’s mobile hardware portfolio, ensuring seamless connectivity and performance for users on 4G and 5G networks.

Our mission is to launch the 4G/5G wireless connected devices to world wide carriers on time with quality. We take lead on the carrier certification test in the lab and field. We collaborate with test partners and development teams, ensuring all test progress is on track and issues are fixed. In addition, we'll support the product developmental process with regards to certification, while helping to shape Google's best practices, tools and processes for Google branded hardware products.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
