Technical Project Lead

Job Description – Technical Project Lead

The Project Lead is responsible for leading cross-functional engineering teams and delivering software, cloud, digital, data, and AI-driven projects within agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets. The Project Lead drives day-to-day project execution, Agile delivery, team coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of software, cloud, digital, data, and AI/GenAI projects while ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, quality, and budget commitments
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while effectively balancing resources, risks, and dependencies
  • Drive Agile delivery using Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid methodologies and facilitate Agile ceremonies
  • Work closely with technical leads, product owners, and stakeholders to prioritize work and ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor project KPIs, sprint metrics, project financials, and provide regular status updates to management
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, QA, DevOps, data engineers, and AI teams
  • Identify project risks, issues, and bottlenecks, and implement appropriate mitigation and recovery plans
  • Ensure compliance with organizational processes, quality standards, audits, and governance requirements
  • Manage customer communication, stakeholder expectations, escalations, and project reporting
  • Lead team onboarding, performance management, mentoring, and employee development activities
  • Promote continuous improvement, engineering best practices, automation, DevOps, and AI-assisted productivity initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 10–12 years of experience in software development and project delivery
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience leading technical or cross-functional teams

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project delivery methodologies
  • Experience in Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban
  • Knowledge of cloud, digital, data analytics, AI or GenAI project delivery
  • Experience in project planning, estimation, risk management, resource planning, and budget tracking
  • Strong stakeholder management, customer communication, and presentation skills
  • Good people management, mentoring, conflict resolution, and team leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, MS Office, and project management tools

Preferred Certifications

  • Any project management or equivalent Agile certifications
