Project Technical Manager
Role Overview

Lead and oversee project process and engineering design activities in line with contractual obligations and project objectives.

Ensure delivery within time, cost, and quality targets through direct management of the engineering team and close collaboration with central product line functions.

Partner with project managers and directors to define, monitor, and update execution plans, fostering strong interaction across key project functions.
Key Responsibilities

Establish project engineering organization charts and assign roles in coordination with the Head of Department.

Review engineering-related contractual documents and interface with other project functions.

Guarantee proper application of technological requirements throughout all project phases until plant handover.

Develop and maintain technical skills, methods, and training programs for relevant technologies.
-
Contribute to overall project planning and scheduling, supervising engineering plans and outsourcing architecture.

Lead induction sessions for engineering teams on contract and project requirements.
-
Participate in risk management and cross-functional reviews addressing engineering concerns.
-
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities, including those executed by external engineering centers or partner companies.

Ensure effective interdisciplinary collaboration and consistency of design solutions.
-
Resolve technical conflicts between disciplines and maintain alignment with project team members.
-
Safeguard that technical solutions meet cost and schedule objectives, implementing corrective measures when needed.

Supervise and approve key engineering deliverables and multidisciplinary documents.
-
Support project managers in client and licensor relations regarding process and specialist engineering issues.

Drive design, safety, and 3D model reviews, ensuring follow-up actions are completed.

Provide technical input for contract management, including variation requests and change orders.
-
Consolidate and monitor engineering hours and material budgets, alerting management to deviations and proposing mitigation.

Oversee freezing of engineering documents and project close-out in line with schedule.
-
Ensure engineering activities support procurement and construction processes.
-
Secure availability of commissioning and start-up plans, operating manuals, and mechanical manuals.
-
Capture and document lessons learned, monitor plant performance, and identify improvement areas in coordination with central functions.
Competencies
-
Ideally should hold a BSc in Engineering or equivalent
-
Proven knowledge of offshore facilities/plant construction activities and techniques.
-
Familiarity with fabrication and installation methods to ensure effective collaboration across the EPIC chain.
-
Expertise in quantity estimation for engineering disciplines.
-
Proficiency in engineering cost control, planning, progress monitoring, and reporting techniques.
