Technical Project Manager - Data Science
India
Location: Bangalore, India
Experience: 10+ years overall, with a minimum of 6 years managing Data Science or
Data Analytics projects

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong
background in managing Data Science and Data Engineering projects. The ideal
candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven
track record of delivering complex, data-driven initiatives. You will work closely with
cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, data engineers, and
business stakeholders to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project management for data science and data analytics
initiatives.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Data Engineering, and Product teams to define
scope, timelines, and resource needs.
- Develop and maintain project plans, risk assessments, and communication
strategies.
- Ensure that project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within
scope.
- Manage stakeholder communication, expectations, and reporting.
- Remove roadblocks, manage dependencies, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Maintain strong relationships with both technical and non-technical team
members.
- Drive Agile or hybrid project methodologies as appropriate.
- Ensure quality control and data governance best practices throughout the
project lifecycle.
- Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to junior team members when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data
Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of total professional experience in technology or data-focused roles.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience managing Data Science, Data Engineering, or
Advanced Analytics projects.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, machine learning workflows, and
modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with tools and technologies used in the Data Science ecosystem
(e.g., Python, SQL, Spark, Jupyter, ML frameworks).
- Excellent project management skills including planning, execution, budgeting,
and risk management.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to manage people and drive team performance in a collaborative
environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is a plus.
- Experience working in a product-based or fast-paced startup environment.
- Prior experience working with international teams or stakeholders.
