Technical Scrum Lead - ASR

The Scrum Master within Application Security & Risk (ASR) at Vanguard is responsible for enabling agile delivery teams to operate effectively while supporting the organization’s commitment to secure, resilient, and compliant technology solutions. This role partners closely with Product Owners, engineering teams, and program leadership to facilitate agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and promote continuous improvement. The Scrum Master serves as a servant leader and coach, ensuring teams apply Agile and Scrum practices in a way that supports delivery outcomes, risk management, and stakeholder transparency. **This hybrid role (in office Tues-Wed-Thurs) is based in Malvern, PA, Charlotte, NC, or Dallas, TX**

Core Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective

• Coach teams on Agile and Scrum principles, values, and best practices

• Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog readiness, clear prioritization, and well-defined acceptance criteria

• Identify, track, and remove team-level impediments; escalate systemic risks and dependencies as appropriate

• Support predictable delivery by promoting sustainable pace, focus, and flow

• Enable transparency through effective use of Jira boards, metrics, and artifacts

• Foster collaboration across engineering, security, and risk stakeholders

• Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics analysis, and actionable follow-ups

• Support alignment to broader program and PI cadence as coordinated by the Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (technology, engineering, business, or related field)

• 3 - 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting agile delivery teams

• Hands-on experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching teams in Agile practices

• Experience working with Jira and agile delivery tooling

Must Have:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Comfortable operating within enterprise-scale agile environments

• Scrum Master certification (CSM, SAFe, SM, or equivalent) preferred
