Salary – $29.73 - $45.91 Hourly Wage
Remote Work / In-Office – This position will be located mainly in the office, but options can be available for the selected candidate to occasionally telework. The office is located at the Taylorsville State Office Building 4315 S 2700 W Taylorsville, Utah.

Key Responsibilities


Do you like to work in the fast paced, fun, ever changing technology field? Then this position is perfect for you! The Division of Technology Services (DTS) needs someone who will provide customer support on all desktop devices including PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and other peripheral equipment. They will also evaluate and make hardware and software recommendations in relation to identified needs and provide group instruction on software applications. The candidate in this position must be able to adapt to new technology as equipment is upgraded. Preference may be given to those who: Have a knowledge of DTS applications such as Service Now, Microsoft SCCM administration, Microsoft Intune Company Portal and Bomgar along with those familiar with Windows Active Directory and be able to administer and troubleshoot problems on local networks and web browsers.

There may be times when you will be required to work extended hours and/or weekends to implement changes, troubleshoot issues, or complete project tasks.

You will be working in a group consisting of 5 desktop support specialists. You will work with all hardware and software products used by the customers in the geographic area. You will be part of the team, helping to troubleshoot problems and provide customers solutions.

Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on laptops, desktop PCs, docking stations, etc.
  • Backs up computer data periodically to prevent unwanted data losses.
  • Image laptops and desktop PCs and install printers and scanners
  • Provides technical assistance on agency issues, services, program(s), and/or computer hardware and software, etc.
  • Grab incoming tickets and device deployments for our campus.

Qualifications


  • Install, configure and troubleshoot software using appropriate methodology and techniques
  • Determine what is causing an operating system error and determine resolution
  • Use device management system software
  • Install hardware and firmware driver updates for laptops, desktop PCs and docking stations
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing
  • Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
  • Use State or agency-specific software application program(s)
  • Must be a self-starter grabbing incoming tickets and device deploys without being asked
  • Works well with a team and also works well independently
