Summary

Duties and responsibilities related to the Technician role:

  • Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on guest rooms and public areas, including checking HVAC filters, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.

  • Respond immediately to guest complaints regarding room maintenance (e.g., AC not cooling, clogged drains, faulty lights) to ensure guest comfort.

  • Carry out general repairs across multiple trades, including basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and painting/polishing.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, such as fan coil units, pumps, and kitchen appliances.

  • Conduct daily rounds to inspect plant rooms, read utility meters, and monitor critical systems like boilers and chillers.

  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, spare parts used, and time spent on tasks using the hotel's work order system.

  • Ensure all work is performed in strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations and hotel safety policies (e.g., Lockout-Tagout).

  • Assist other engineering teams (specialists) during major repairs or projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or Building Management desirable
  • Minimum 2 years work experience as Technician/Tradesman in a hotel or 4 years in a similar large building/complex with central plant
