JOB SUMMARY

Provides support for the special events and special projects areas for Caesars, Harrah’s and Tropicana Atlantic City. Responsible for artistic, technical work, repair and maintenance of any special events. Demonstrates their artistic ability in creating “set designs” while displaying a strong commitment to customer service through the delivery of our service standards, safety procedures and standard operating procedures. Attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing an excellent guest experience are key aspects of this role. $36.00 Per Hour

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

  • Demonstrates artistic abilities using natural ability and/or computer graphic art skills to design and construct events.
  • Makes recommendations to improve overall project layout/design for specific and high-profile pieces
  • Maybe responsible for work in the following areas; drawings, painting, sewing, woodworking, metalworking, sculpting, fiberglass or computer graphic design.
  • Responsible for the installation and breakdown of event décor.
  • Handles loading and unloading of materials from trucks and storage.
  • Works as directed by Supervisor in one or more of the following areas: Carpentry, Painting, Rigging, Lighting, Electrics. Works with Entertainment under union specifics.
  • Operates motorized vehicles, i.e. hydraulic and electrically powered hi reach (man lift), sewing machines and power and hand tools. Comprehensive knowledge of computer graphic art skills to "design and construct" the events we create a plus.
  • Follows all safety protocols and reports unsafe working conditions immediately
  • Plans, organizes and completes all work in a timely manner
  • Takes initiatives, shows ownership and goes above and beyond to assist internal guests with their needs
  • Ability to move push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs, lighting, scenery materials, and equipment of varying weights necessary for staging
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively
  • Must be able to work in all types of environments, both indoors and outdoors
  • Must be able to work in small, confined areas and/or on hands and knees for periods of time
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period
  • Must be able to work at all heights utilizing ladders, personnel lifts, scissor lifts etc. and climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to read and understand basic floor plans, manuals, scripts etc. pertaining to event set-ups, rehearsals, operations and breakdowns
  • Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Degree in Technical Theatre preferred but not required
  • Six to eight years’ experience in set-up of scenery, sound, lighting
  • Knowledge of safe installation techniques, weight rating and use of hardware and fire safety
  • Proficient in English verbal and written
  • Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • NJ Driver’s License required
  • If in possession of a CDL license, may operate up to a 26ft truck.
