Position Summary

The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies across hospital departments using computer-assisted tools and standard inventory practices to support efficient patient care operations. This role reports to the Director or Manager of the department.


Essential Functions

  • Perform periodic cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory and adjust records as needed
  • Stock units with office and medical supplies and prepare requisitions to maintain appropriate par levels
  • Receive shipments, log receipts, and enter data into inventory systems
  • Deliver supplies to departments or other facilities
  • Report and document shipment errors or damages to management
  • Answer telephone calls, assist at the receiving dock, and support walk-up requests professionally
  • Complete clerical and computer-based tasks supporting patient care delivery
  • Process outgoing mail
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Education

  • High School diploma preferred


Required Skills

  • Critical thinking and sound decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced or stressful environment
  • Proficiency in learning and navigating multiple computer systems
  • Effective English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
  • Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire
