Techno Functional Logistic Lead - WMS / YMS

JOB SUMMARY

To study, analyze IT applications/Systems and Business processes and document the business requirements with set organizational standards and procedures. work closely with business experts, project stakeholders and solution delivery teams to specify, design, implement, test, document and deliver solutions.

Manage technical software application implementation to meet customer expectations therefore ensuring the smooth running of business and IT Systems, this also includes system monitoring, troubleshooting and problem resolution. Must require excellent business knowledge and working experience in Supply Chain Management Process like Warehouse Management, Order Management, Transportation Management, Reporting modules. Should also have worked industry standard WMS solution preferable EPG-LFS

• Requirement Gathering & Analysis – Work with business stakeholders to understand warehouse operations and translate them into WMS requirements.
• Process Optimization – Identify inefficiencies in warehouse processes (inbound, outbound, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping) and recommend WMS solutions.
• System Implementation & Configuration – Configure WMS modules (e.g., receiving, putaway, picking, replenishment) based on business needs.
• Stakeholder Communication – Act as a bridge between business users and IT teams, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption of WMS.
• Training & Support – Conduct user training sessions and provide ongoing support to warehouse teams.
• Work closely with analysts, designers and staff in the project team
• Compliance & Reporting – Ensure WMS processes comply with regulatory and organizational standards while enabling effective reporting and analytics.
• Ensure compliance to IT policy in terms of implementation and monitoring of information security management in your department in line with the UAE region ISR policy.

2. Technical & Leadership Responsibilities:

• WMS Customization & Enhancements – Work with developers & suppliers to customize the WMS as per business needs.
• Integration Management – Ensure seamless integration of WMS with ERP, TMS (Transportation Management System), and other supply chain solutions.
• Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution – Analyze system issues, coordinate with IT teams, and provide quick resolutions to minimize operational disruptions.
• Testing & Quality Assurance – Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and regression testing before system rollouts.
• Data Management – Oversee data migration, validation, and reporting to ensure accurate inventory and operational data.
• Project Leadership – Lead WMS-related projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Vendor Management – Coordinate with WMS vendors (like EPG- LFS, Oracle WMS Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM etc ) for system updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting.
• Continuous Improvement – Stay updated on WMS trends, suggest automation and AI-driven improvements for warehouse efficiency.
• Change Management: Ability to manage organizational change associated with WMS implementation, ensuring user adoption and minimal disruption.

9. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management with 8 + years of experience in Logistic Domain WMS, TMS & supplier chain with IT technical skills – Integration, RDID, AI, Database SQL, API Management, EDI,& Middleware tools

Desirable Qualification: Certification in Project Management, SUN JAVA Certified professional, Oracle Certified Professional, Oracle ERP Certified professional.

Work Experience : 6-8 years’ experience in the below mentioned technologies with 1-2 years in project implementation.

• Should have exposure to AGILE Development methodology.

Technical skills required to perform the role:

1. System Configuration: Proficiency in setting up and tailoring the EPG WMS or similar Configuration to align with unique business processes, including defining workflows, storage strategies, and operational rules.
2. Customization: Ability to modify and enhance the system to meet specific requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.
3. ERP Integration: Experience in integrating EPG WMS or similar Configuration with leading ERP systems to ensure seamless data flow and process synchronization.
4. Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Integration: Knowledge of connecting EPG WMS or similar Configuration with various materials handling technologies, such as conveyors and automated storage systems, to streamline warehouse processes.
5. RFID & Barcode Scanning Technology: Integration of RF scanners, handheld devices, and automated storage systems with WMS.
6. Database Management: Familiarity with database systems used by EPG WMS, enabling efficient data management and troubleshooting.
7. Scripting and Automation: Skills in scripting languages to automate routine tasks and customize system functionalities.
8. API and Middleware: Understanding of API usage and middleware solutions to facilitate integration between EPG WMS and other enterprise systems.
9. Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of industry-specific regulations and ensuring EPG WMS or similar configurations adhere to these standards.
10. Process Optimization: Ability to leverage EPG WMS or similar features to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and improve overall warehouse performance.
