The Opportunity: (Brief Overview of the Role)
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientists to collaborate and empower HSBC Wealth and Personal Banking Contact Centre Data and Analytics team through advanced analytics, AI/ GEN-AI, ML, and NLP initiatives. The ideal candidate should be proficient in using large data sets, translating complex business problems into analytical frameworks, and designing robust, industry-standard solutions. They must possess expertise in building and implementing AI/ML (supervised/ unsupervised) models and algorithms in a production environment. Top-notch expertise with data mining and analysis methods using Python and various related packages/ modules is a must have, including a proven track record of driving business outcomes through data-centric solutions and insights. They should have a passion for discovering hidden opportunities and solutions by leveraging large data sets to improve business outcomes.
What you’ll do: (List out Key Responsibilities)
Research and devise innovative ML and Deep Learning algorithms for given problems.- Execute analytical experiments to solve problems across various domains and industries.
- Perform data analysis (including cleaning, validation, and error analysis) and utilize algorithms/models to mine big-data stores, improving model accuracy.
- Possess deep knowledge of Deep Learning and AI Architectures, including Convolutional Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Networks, Long Short-Term Memory, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Maintain and improve existing ML and Deep Learning algorithms to meet stakeholder-agreed success criteria and deploy models in production.
- Define and continuously improve feature engineering processes to ensure relevant feature usage, considering varying business constraints.
- Deliver end-to-end analytical solutions supporting business operations, requiring hands-on experience with tools and scripting languages like SQL, NOSQL, Python.
- Drive innovation for self and team to deliver incremental business value.
- Understand business issues and context, develop frameworks for solving unstructured problems, and articulate clear, actionable, analytics-driven solutions.
- Work with LLMs using prompt engineering and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Work proficiently within an agile/scrum methodology.
- Proactively identify and actively work towards closing process gaps.
- Ensure high-quality delivery of models, analyses, and insights.
What you will need to succeed in the role: (Minimum Qualification and Skills Required)
M. Tech / Master’s Degree / PhD in Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics or other quantitative fields
- Experience of delivering Data Science projects with specializations in Deep Learning & NLP
- Able to drive Python Code optimization; ability review codes and provide inputs to improve the quality of codes.
- Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and algorithms; Working knowledge of Supervised Learning, Adversarial Learning and Unsupervised Learning
- Deep analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work with all levels of management; effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Ability to balance and handle multiple concurrent tasks and/or issues simultaneously.
- Ability to play a strong functional role while leading a project team to deliver analytic outcomes, collaborating with different functions and joined-up with Operations and Lines of Businesses to implement the solutions.
- Ability to prioritize activities while working under pressure and balance interactions.
- Ensure understanding and abiding by compliance framework for policies, data, systems etc. as per group, region, and local standards.
- Strong engineering background/ experience in development of AI products
What additional skills will be good to have? (List out good to have skills and certifications)
- Experience in LMM/ SLM training and tuning, quantization
- Strong Knowlege on Classical AI
Hands on expertise on GCP native tools, Looker, Qlik Sense would be a plus- GCP Certification in PDE/GCA would be a plus.
