Job Summary:
The Telecom / Radio System Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of radio communication and transmission systems, ensuring reliable and efficient network performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain radio communication systems, including TETRA systems and OTN systems.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of VHF and UHF radio systems.
- Diagnose and resolve faults in radio transmission and network equipment.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and system diagrams.
- Coordinate with engineers and technical teams for system upgrades and expansions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Radio Systems, TETRA Systems, and OTN Systems.
- Strong knowledge of VHF and UHF radio communications.
- Ability to test, troubleshoot, and maintain radio and transmission equipment.
- Must be able to present valid certification from a recognized radio system provider or authority.
- Minimum of 3–5 years relevant experience in telecom or radio system operations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with public safety or mission-critical communication systems.
- Familiarity with radio frequency (RF) testing tools and equipment.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work on field assignments and in challenging environments.
