Summary

Insight Global is seeking a Telecom Project Manager to join our client's team in the Philadelphia, PA area. This position is fully remote, but will require one week of onsite orientation and training once hired. The Comcast Metro Ethernet (MetroE) Project Manager is responsible for the complete lifecycle management of Metro Ethernet construction and service delivery projects. This position oversees planning, engineering coordination, permitting, construction, fiber placement, splicing, testing, customer turn-up, documentation, billing, and project closeout. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between Comcast, customers, engineering, construction crews, subcontractors, and internal departments while ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with Comcast quality standards and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).


Primary Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage multiple MetroE projects from contract award through final closeout.
  • Review project scope, engineering designs, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
  • Track milestones and ensure all deliverables are completed on time.
  • Identify project risks and implement corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.


Customer & Comcast Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Comcast project teams and customers.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and status meetings.
  • Provide accurate progress updates and delivery forecasts.
  • Communicate schedule changes, risks, and project delays proactively.
  • Build strong working relationships with Comcast construction, engineering, and operations personnel.


Engineering Coordination

  • Review fiber route designs and construction drawings.
  • Coordinate engineering revisions and field changes.
  • Ensure permits, utility locates, easements, and required approvals are obtained before construction begins.
  • Verify project scope matches engineering and customer requirements.


Construction Management

  • Coordinate aerial, underground, and directional boring construction activities.
  • Schedule construction crews, fiber placement crews, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor daily production and productivity.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and manpower are available.
  • Perform field inspections to verify workmanship and quality.
  • Resolve field issues that impact production.


Fiber Installation & Network Delivery

  • Coordinate fiber placement and splicing operations.
  • Schedule OTDR, power meter, and final acceptance testing.
  • Coordinate customer turn-up with Comcast
