Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- The Telemetry Tech/Clerical Coordinator (CC/TT) II is responsible for monitoring electrocardiogram and SPO2 measurements constantly for designated patients and informing the RN of changes.
- Maintains and checks monitoring equipment daily.
- Works as a part of the patient care team to maintain organization within the clinical station, answer telephones and patient call lights promptly, assist patients, hospital visitors and members of the healthcare team.
- Performs clerical functions including organizing the clinical station, tracking equipment inventory, and monitoring electronic orders.
- Notifies Charge nurse of new admits and maintains census record.
- Participates in Swap Shifts to ensure skill competency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Trains and supports new hires and is utilized as an expert in Telemetry.
- Participates on a Hoag Committee Council and Unit Practice Council.
- Assists in either a Clinical Ladder Improvement project or department-specific project as assigned by department leader.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of basic arrhythmia course and successfully passed ECG test required.
- Either 1 year of CC/TT Experience or has attended at least 1 semester of Nursing School and remains in a nursing program.
- Completion of a Clerical Coordinator course including medical terminology preferred.
- Must complete Preceptor class prior to hire/ promotion into position
