Job Summary

Part-Time Respiratory Therapist, LPN, or RN – Pulmonary Practice Triage Position

Salem Chest Specialists is seeking a compassionate and experienced part-time Respiratory Therapist (RT), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our pulmonary practice team. This position will provide onsite telephone triage support for our pulmonary patients, helping assess concerns, coordinate care, and ensure patients receive timely and appropriate medical guidance.

Schedule:

• Regular schedule will be Wednesday, Thursday, and a half day on Friday
• Approximately 24–29 hours per week
• Flexibility to provide coverage for an occasional full work week as needed

Responsibilities include:

• Perform telephone triage for pulmonary patients, assessing symptoms and determining appropriate next steps
• Provide patient education related to respiratory conditions, medications, treatments, and disease management
• Communicate patient concerns and clinical findings with providers
• Assist with medication questions, prescription refill requests, and care coordination
• Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record
• Provide exceptional service and support to patients and the clinical team

Qualifications:

• Current Respiratory Therapist (RT), LPN, or RN license in North Carolina
• Pulmonary, critical care, sleep medicine, or outpatient clinical experience preferred
• Epic electronic medical record experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with providers and staff
