Teller / New Accounts Representative

We are seeking a dedicated, friendly, detail-oriented, and customer focused Teller/ New Accounts Representative to join our financial services team. In addition to performing standard teller transactions, this role includes responsibilities for opening and maintaining new customer accounts. The ideal candidate will provide excellent service, ensure compliance with banking regulations, and promote our financial products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and check cashing
Open new checking, savings, and certificate accounts for personal and business clients
Explain banking products and services, helping customers choose options to meet their financial needs
Maintain accurate records and verify proper documentation for account openings
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and federal regulations (e.g., KYC, AML, CIP)
Balance cash drawer daily and resolve discrepancies
Answer customer inquiries and resolve account issues in a timely manner
Cross-sell bank products and refer customers to appropriate departments when needed
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their financial needs and providing tailored banking solutions.
Process outgoing wires efficiently while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Utilize financial software to manage client accounts
Perform basic math calculations accurately to assist clients with their banking inquiries.
Collaborate with other banking professionals to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial services.

Qualifications
Proven experience in customer service and new accounts.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
Previous experience in banking, customer service, or cash handling strongly preferred
Strong mathematical skills, including basic math and 10 key typing proficiency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster client relationships.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
