Temporary Classical Secondary Math Teacher

Veritas Classical Academy in Southern California is seeking an outstanding Temporary Secondary Math Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic school year to substitute for the main teacher who is on a medical leave.

Teacher Role:

An emphasis is placed on training students in critical thinking and developing a biblical worldview to prepare students to become gospel-culture shapers. The Secondary Math Teacher provides instruction in an educational environment where students develop a love for God’s created order as they discover the truth, goodness and beauty of His world through methods consistent with the classical approach to learning. The goals of Veritas Math Department are:

1. Develop clarity of thought by exercising skills of logic and problem solving.

2. Form biblical virtue through the rigorous practice of mathematics.

3. Discover the language of mathematics to understand the created order revealed by God.

4. Appreciate the beauty found in the patterns and equations that describe the universe.

5. Apply mathematical reasoning for stewardship of God’s creation.

Teaching Job Description:

• Teach 3 classes: Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB/BC.
• Teach 2-3 classes everyday Monday - Friday.
• Hours: For most of the days, it is from 12:50 PM - 3:30 PM.
• Dates: September 2 - September 10, 2025
• The position may be extended beyond these dates, as a Substitute Teacher, and possibly even as a long-term Substitute Teacher.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 13 – 15 per week
