Seeking a Temporary Full-Time Infant Nanny

About the Family

A warm, laid-back family in Sleepy Hollow, NY is seeking an experienced infant nanny to care for their baby boy and provide additional support during an exciting transitional period for their family. This is their first child, and both parents are looking for an experienced caregiver who can serve as both a nurturing nanny and a trusted resource as they continue navigating the infant stage.

Mom is currently on maternity leave through November, while Dad will be returning to work in the coming weeks and works from home several days per week. The family is hoping to find someone who can provide hands-on support, help establish routines, and confidently guide them through age-appropriate developmental milestones. Their son is currently primarily contact napping and has not yet established a consistent daytime nap schedule.

The family would love to find a nanny with strong infant experience, particularly someone knowledgeable about sleep routines and nap transitions who can gently help encourage more independent sleep habits while maintaining a responsive and nurturing approach. This is intended to be a temporary, transitional role through October/November 2026, as the child is expected to begin daycare at that time.

Contract Type: Temporary Employment (approximately June–October 2026 - A minimum 4-month commitment)

Location: Sleepy Hollow, NY

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule Monday–Friday 10:00 AM / 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM The family may occasionally request additional hours for date nights or extra support as needed.

Child Infant boy (6 weeks old) Compensation & Benefits $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience 35 to 40 guaranteed hours per week

Primary Duties

Providing attentive and nurturing infant care

Supporting age-appropriate developmental milestones

Establishing and maintaining healthy routines Assisting with nap training and encouraging independent sleep habits

Engaging the baby through play, reading, songs, and developmental activities

Daily walks and outdoor time when appropriate

Preparing bottles and washing bottles

Maintaining cleanliness of nursery and baby-related areas

Collaborating closely with parents and providing guidance when appropriate

Communicating openly regarding feeding, sleep, development, and daily activities

Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of professional infant nanny experience (5–10 years preferred)

Strong newborn and infant experience required

Previous experience supporting sleep routines and nap training preferred

CPR & First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Non-smoker

Excellent communication skills

Comfortable working in a collaborative environment with first-time parents

Warm, nurturing, patient, and proactive personality

Flexible and open to occasional additional hours when needed

Dog friendly Reliable transportation to get to and from work (driving is not required as part of the role)

Must live within 30 minutes of Sleepy Hollow, NY

Up to date with Tdap and Flu shots

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
