What we want

The Temporary Research Associate will perform experimental research on chemical and physical processes of water and wastewater treatment including samples handling and analysis. The Research Associate will analyze water and environmental samples for research projects conducted by fellow researchers, graduate, and undergraduate students in the laboratory. The Temporary Research Associate will also oversee the management and operation of the water and environmental research laboratory at TAMUQ including, but not limited to, ensuring compliance with TAMUQ policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards, preparing project safety analysis of research projects, managing laboratory inventories and equipment, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, procurement of chemicals and materials, and maintaining laboratory records. Additionally, the Temporary Research Associate will provide technical support to other research staff and students performing research in the laboratory.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

• Two years of related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferably to have qualification relevant to the job description.

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform experimental research on chemical and physical processes of water and wastewater treatment including samples handling and analysis.

• Analyze water and environmental samples for research projects conducted by fellow researchers and graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory.

• Oversee the management and operation of the water and environmental research laboratory at TAMUQ including, but not limited to, ensuring compliance with TAMUQ policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards, preparing project safety analysis of research projects, managing laboratory inventories and equipment, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, procurement of chemicals and materials, and maintaining laboratory records.

• Provide technical support and guidance to research staff and students to effectively and efficiently perform research in the laboratory.
