Job Summary

The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State is looking for two temporary call center workers to staff a voter information call center from May- November. This position will be answering phone calls and assisting callers by providing general elections and voting information, or transferring to correct staff for assistance.

Call center staff will receive training to answer questions about general voting procedures, voting eligibility, voter’s rights, voter registration, absentee balloting, and how to assist voters using OSS website.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to read, speak and write English well enough to provide verbal information to Minnesota voters.
  • Customer service skills sufficient to communicate effectively with diverse communities and work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to energetically and enthusiastically interact with the general public in a positive way.
  • Ability to quickly learn detailed election procedure information. Ability to give instructions and guide voters to understand voting processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with fielding customer service calls.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota election process.
