Terminal Manager
Primary Duty
The Terminal Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of plant specific outbound freight including a fleet of dedicated trucks, hostling, personnel and outside transportation supplier relationships. The Terminal Manager is also responsible for leading safe operations while delivering high service/quality and financial performance of the terminal. The Terminal Manager will interact with all levels of the plant to collaboratively develop opportunities to improve freight expenses.
Essential Functions

Responsible for safety financial performance, process improvement, housekeeping of offsite warehouse and on time delivery.

Strategically manages terminal from long-term perspective while managing the day-to-day operational activities; developing competitive rates; developing and analyzing operating reports, financial statements.
- Administers policy and contract employee relations; manages recruiting, hiring and developing qualified drivers.
- Develops and maintains existing customer bases. Provides optimal customer service.

Establishes and reviews procedures for operational effectiveness.
- Work collaboratively with other department staff members such as Customer Service, Sales, Plant Management Team to improve freight spend efficiency.

Ensures equipment is properly maintained for operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

Ensures drivers operate safely and within regulatory compliance.
- Maintains all fleet records and work orders by overseeing and managing the company's fleet software system.
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, or related field preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the transportation industry or a related field, some of which in a management role. Knowledge of transportation operations and laws, federal safety regulations and maintenance requirements.
- Must have strong communication, leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Fleet Management Software experience.

Thorough knowledge of safe maintenance and DOT, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.

Understand P&L statements and analyze areas for production improvement.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TMW dispatch system, Omnitracs satellite sand Samsara.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

PC skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
-
Starting salary range for position: $86,500 - $92,000

Bonus: Annual – Based upon individual contribution and overall, Company performance.
