Job Summary:
The Terminal Operator is accountable for monitoring and controlling the filling, loading, and offloading processes at the terminal in accordance with company procedures and safety standards. This role ensures operational accuracy, compliance, and smooth coordination with dispatch, sales, suppliers, and drivers to guarantee safe and efficient terminal activities.
Filling & Loading Operations
· Fill IPT trucks as per the daily delivery schedule provided by dispatch.
· Fill third-party trucks upon confirmation and nomination by the sales team.
· Add additives and apply seals as instructed by the sales team.
· Ensure accurate odometer readings when filling IPT trucks from Counter 3.
· Record delivery notes, quantities, and relevant pictures, and share with designated groups.
Offloading & Stock Control
· Offload supplier deliveries (IPT or third-party transport) after verifying volume, weight, seals, and date/time with the Terminal Supervisor.
· Monitor and track truck balances and terminal stock levels at all times.
· Conduct daily tank measurements and weekly water tank readings.
· Take daily readings of totalizers from both trucks and terminal counters.
Safety & Compliance
· Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company standards for all workers and drivers.
· Conduct daily inspections of terminal rooms, pumps, hoses, and tanks, reporting any findings to the Terminal Supervisor.
· Participate in monthly safety drills and training sessions.
· Support in sending fuel samples for testing with approved laboratories.
Housekeeping & Maintenance Support
· Maintain cleanliness of the terminal and ensure daily cleaning tasks are performed.
· Perform painting jobs and cleaning of surveillance cameras as required.
· Assist mechanics and operators when needed to maintain operational readiness.
Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain and archive hard copies of terminal-related documents.
· Keep accurate logs, including visitor records and operational checklists.
· Report abnormalities, incidents, or potential hazards promptly to the Terminal Supervisor.
Customer & Driver Support
· Accompany drivers and provide support during deliveries at customer sites when required.
Ensure customers receive safe, professional, and timely service during terminal operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or technical certification.
Ideally 2 years of experience in a diesel terminal or similar operations
