he Terminal Operator is responsible for executing and coordinating the loading and offloading of containers from trucks within the terminal/depot. The role ensures efficient turnaround of trucks, accurate handling of containers, and strict compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Truck Loading & Offloading

Coordinate and supervise the loading and offloading of containers from trucks.

Ensure correct container is loaded/unloaded as per job instructions and documentation.

Guide equipment operators (reach stacker, forklift, terminal tractor) during lifting activities.

Ensure safe positioning and securing of containers on trucks.
2. Gate & Truck Flow Coordination

Manage truck movement within the terminal to avoid congestion and delays.

Direct drivers to designated loading/offloading bays.
-
Coordinate queue management to ensure fast turnaround time.

Liaise with gate team for smooth entry and exit operations.
3. Documentation & Verification

Verify container numbers, seal numbers, and documentation before loading/offloading.

Ensure correct matching between truck, container, and system instructions.

Report discrepancies immediately to operations team.
4. Container Condition Check

Conduct visual inspection of containers before loading/unloading.
-
Identify and report damages such as dents, corrosion, or structural issues.

Ensure containers are safe for transport.
5. Yard Coordination

Coordinate with yard team to ensure containers are available and positioned for truck operations.

Confirm container location in system before truck arrival.

Support smooth handover between yard and truck operations.
6. Equipment & Safety Monitoring

Ensure all lifting operations are performed safely according to SOPs.

Maintain safe distance and proper signaling during loading/offloading.
7. Reporting & Records

Record all truck loading/offloading activities in the system.

Maintain logs of container movements and truck turnaround.
Qualifications
-
Diploma or relevant technical qualification (preferred).
-
1–3 years experience in container terminal, depot, or logistics operations.
