Test Engineer

Job Title: Senior Tester / Test Lead – Payments Domain

Experience Required: 8–10+ years of relevant experience in payment systems and banking domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute functional system testing including sanity, regression, pre-production, and post-production phases within tight release schedules.
• Understand business and product requirements related to payments and align them with existing service architecture.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Design and execute functional tests for POS acquiring products and merchant systems.
• Develop and implement QA strategies to optimize testing processes, reduce defects, and enhance development efficiency.
• Perform API testing (JSON, REST, XML) and utilize automation tools for product validation.
• Ensure thorough testing of digital payment solutions and payment integrators.
• Conduct end-to-end payment transaction testing involving routing switches and POS devices including IPG.
• Manage card certification and ISO 8583 messaging system testing.
• Track and report key QA metrics such as defect leakage, aging, and test coverage.
• Publish effective daily and weekly status reports to stakeholders.
• Allocate tasks, manage team performance, and escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Strong domain expertise in payment banking systems.
• Hands-on experience with digital payments and POS systems.
• Familiarity with merchant acquiring systems and payment integrators.
• Proficiency in API testing (JSON, REST, XML).
• Experience with automation tools and testing methodologies.
• Working knowledge of ISO 8583 messaging and card certification processes.
• Proficient in using JIRA for project management and issue tracking.
• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, while contributing to team goals.
