Test Lead

Job Purpose

  • Conduct comprehensive testing of Prime Issuing, Acquiring application modules along with hands on experience in functional testing.
  • Perform end-to-end testing using different system modules and validating transaction flow, reconciliation of reports and settlements.
  • Domain expertise in different types of testing functional, regression, compliance testing, ensuring integration of payment gateways and transaction workflows.


Key Result Areas

  • Lead & Coordinate Testing Activities with Business, Operation Team, Developer and other key stakeholders.
  • Prepare Test Plan and approach based on the Business requirements.
  • Identify, document and track defects by collaborating with development teams for resolution.
  • Possess good knowledge on the card domain with more visibility on the transaction process from authorization till settlement.
  • Provide regular test progress reports, highlighting critical issues, resolutions, and overall test status.
  • Effective in working independently and collaboratively in teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Easily adaptable to all Environments and can easily learn new things in specified domains.

Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships

  • Ensure to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and complex payments environment, managing operations across multiple regions and jurisdictions.
  • The role requires balancing operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with global and local regulations, while ensuring seamless service delivery to merchants, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure High level of engagement with Business, service units, digital squads, internal and external Audit bodies, schemes and outsourcing partners. Support Business for defining solution for new UAT Projects, products and initiatives.
  • To work closely with Visa / Mastercard/vendors/service providers and other associations for any operational/system changes, transaction processing and exception handling.

Problem Solving

  • Review system issues and failures and escalate for prompt resolution. Ensure Critical issues having business impacts are highlighted to Business stakeholders.
  • Ensuring consistency and continuity in customer promises of all products and new product /project launches.
  • Strive for problem resolution through understanding customer needs and protecting the Banks culture & image, to develop.
  • Ensure necessary training/guidelines are always provided to the unit officials for handling exceptions and maintenance of an adequate level of control.

Decision Making Authority & Responsibility

  • Decide the process changes for various new products and process initiatives.
  • Decide various GL configurations for new products, new scheme acceptances, and new business initiatives/projects.
  • Decide the UAT requirements for all new Projects and system changes and sign off various projects for both issuing and Acquiring initiatives.
  • Define scheme settlement changes for all new scheme implementations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge in Issuing & Acquiring Operation functions of cards consisting of Chargeback, Interchange and settlement, Merchant onboarding, Merchant servicing, Payments.
  • Knowledge of VAT requirements, applicability, and implementation.
  • Hands on experience in the implementation of new systems for issuing and acquiring businesses.
  • 6+ years of multi-discipline banking experience with end-to-end knowledge in cards-acquiring and issuing domain.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal), Good analytical and solution-oriented thinking/ interpersonal skills.
  • Client communication and management and good People Management skills
  • Ability to meet stringent client deliverables, effective presentation skills, effective decision-making power & conflict handling.
