Testing & Commissioning Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of LV & MV switchgear, dry-type transformers, and busbar trunking systems.
• Handle ACBs, VCBs, relays, and protection systems, ensuring operational accuracy.
• Conduct technical tests including insulation resistance, contact resistance, ratio, and primary injection.
• Lead planning and execution of site work, including shutdowns, emergency responses, and power alignments.
• Oversee vehicle and material arrangements (e.g., copper, machinery) required for on-site work.
• Manage petty cash, check bills, and handle field-level financial issues.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors; conduct site visits and evaluate requirements.
• Prepare project quotations, finalize scope post site surveys with supervisors.
• Supervise testing teams and ensure equipment readiness.
• Create detailed reports and documentation after each commissioning phase.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Plan timelines for successful testing and commissioning of panels at the site.
• After completion of warranty periods, develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with organizations and facilitate long-term maintenance contracts and service agreements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized/accredited institution.
• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in testing & commissioning of electrical switchgear systems.
• Strong expertise in relay coordination, protection systems, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in using testing kits (e.g., Omicron, Megger, or equivalent).
• Excellent communication, reporting, and team leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel and manage operations across various project sites.
