Testing & Commissioning Manager - RO Plant

Job Title: Testing & Commissioning Manager - RO Plant Location: Fujairah, UAE Industry: Water Treatment / Desalination / RO Plants Experience: 12-20 years (minimum 5+ years in RO / Desalination projects)

We are seeking an experienced Testing & Commissioning Manager to lead and manage testing, pre commissioning, commissioning, and performance guarantee activities for Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plants in the UAE. The role requires close coordination with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and client teams to ensure safe, timely, and compliant plant commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute testing, pre commissioning, commissioning, and start up of RO plant
• Develop and implement commissioning procedures, method statements, and schedules
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams
• Lead functional testing, loop checks, flushing, chemical cleaning, membrane installation, and performance testing
• Ensure RO system performance guarantees (flow, recovery, salt rejection, pressure drop, water quality)
• Interface with clients, consultants, and authorities for inspections and approvals
• Supervise commissioning engineers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, UAE regulations, and project specifications
• Troubleshoot operational issues during start up and stabilization
• Prepare and submit commissioning reports, test records, and handover documentation
• Support operator training and final plant take over

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• 12-20 years of experience in water treatment / desalination projects
• Strong hands on experience in RO plant commissioning (SWRO / BWRO / UF preferred)
• In depth knowledge of: RO membranes & skids, chemical dosing systems, CIP systems, pretreatment units (UF, DAF, MMF, ACF)
• Familiar with international standards (AWWA, ASTM, ISO)
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage)
• Prior UAE or GCC experience preferred

Preferred Skills

• Experience with EPC / EPCM projects
• Familiar with performance testing & acceptance criteria
• Knowledge of SCADA / PLC interfaces for commissioning
• Ability to work under tight schedules and critical start up phases
