Compensation Range: Proctors typically earn between $115 - $175 per exam depending on their assigned role, the type of exam and the length of exam.

Position Description:Proctor exams according to College Board (PSAT/AP exams), ACT (ACT/PreACT exams) and Minnesota Department of Education (MCA exams) instructions including: distributing exam materials, reading instructions clearly, monitoring students, completing exam paperwork/online logs, collecting and counting exams, and keeping exam materials secure.
Duties Include:

Proctor standardized tests for high school students in large group, small group or 1:1 settings.

Distribute exam materials, follow detailed exam instructions, and closely monitor students to ensure all standardized procedures are followed.

Some proctor assignments for accommodated testing, may require reading math or science exams to students according to a standardized test script.
Requirements:

Must have a high school diploma. Some post-secondary education is preferred.

Knowledge and understanding of standardized test administration protocols and practices is desired.

Ability to follow procedures with great attention to detail.

Must complete proctor training modules and attend information meetings in-person or online before testing day.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.

Reliability and punctuality is extremely important.

Ability to lift 10-15 lbs.

May not be employed part or full time at a test preparation company.

May not participate in any tutoring activity that addresses the content of secure College Board, ACT or Minnesota Department of Education tests.

CAN NOT proctor an exam if an immediate family member is taking that exam.
Terms of Employment:
-
Part-time temporary positions during the school day as needed in October (PSAT), March (ACT/PreACT), April (MCA) and May (AP). Scheduled hours/days will vary. There may be a few additional ACT proctor positions available other months in alignment with ACT National Testing dates.

Proctors do not need to be available for all testing dates and times and may not be scheduled for every day of testing. Proctors will be contacted as need arises.

Proctors may be assigned to a large or small group standard exam, or a 1:1 or small group accommodated exam. Groups larger than 30 will have multiple proctors in the room.

Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.
Payment:

Depends on the length of the test and the proctor role type. Ranges from $115-$175 per day.
