TEXTILE DESIGNER (HOME TEXTILES)

About the Role:

We are looking for a creative and technically sound Textile Designer with proven experience in the home furnishing sector. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing for products such as cushion covers, rugs, carpets, throws, curtains, and other soft furnishing items. You will be responsible for developing innovative, market-relevant textile designs, working closely with the merchandising and production teams to ensure design feasibility and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create original and trend-driven textile designs for home furnishing products such as cushions covers , bedsheet covers , rugs, carpets, bed linens, curtains, and throws
• Develop detailed design artworks, repeats, colorways, and tech packs
• Translate design concepts into production-ready files (including jacquard, dobby, embroidery, and print layouts)
• Work closely with the merchandising and product development teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with buyer briefs
• Research market trends, materials, colors, and competitor designs to inform seasonal collections
• Coordinate with vendors, weavers, printers, and dyeing units to ensure sampling and production accuracy
• Maintain an organized library of designs, fabric swatches, and references
• Ensure all designs align with brand aesthetics, sustainability goals, and buyer preferences
• Attend trade shows, buyer meetings, and vendor visits when required

Key Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Textile Design, Surface Design, or related field from a reputed institute
• 3–4 years of experience in textile designing for home furnishings
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Ned Graphics, or other textile-specific design software
• Strong understanding of textile techniques such as weaving, printing, tufting, embroidery, dyeing, and finishing
• Knowledge of textile structures and material behavior (cotton, wool, viscose, jute, polyester, etc.)
• Good eye for color, pattern, and layout
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly textile design practices
• Experience working with export-oriented buyers or retail brands (US, UK, EU markets)
• Understanding of product costing, production limitations, and material sourcing
• Hand sketching and manual rendering skills (optional but preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
