Core Responsibilities
- Motif Development
- Researching ethnic and folk-inspired motifs (paisleys, florals, mandalas, tribal patterns).
- Translating hand-drawn sketches into digital vector formats.
- Ensuring motif fidelity and clarity for both small-scale and large-scale prints.
- Print Creation
- Designing repeat patterns (block repeats, half-drop, mirror repeats).
- Developing placement prints for garments like sarees, lehengas, kurtas, and dupattas.
- Balancing traditional aesthetics with modern luxury appeal.
- Colorway Exploration
- Creating multiple color variations to suit seasonal palettes.
- Applying Pantone standards for consistency across production.
- Technical Preparation
- Preparing print files for screen printing, digital textile printing, or embroidery.
- Ensuring resolution, sharpness, and scalability for different fabric types.
- Collaboration
- Working closely with fashion designers, merchandisers, and production teams.
- Aligning prints with garment silhouettes and campaign themes.
